Don't hit the bottle

UNISON public services union has launched "Water@Work", a campaign aimed at getting employers to provide accessible, mains-fed water on the shop floor or in the office.

The union says tap water is a cheaper and greener way to stay hydrated and healthy, with general secretary Dave Prentis highlighting the environmental benefits of cutting out the packaging associated with bottled water - 435 million litres of which were supplied by the UK water cooler industry in 2005.
