BBC nurseries

Members of the NUJ and BECTU broadcasting unions are fighting to save the BBC's crche facilities, after the corporation announced a decision to close all seven. At Cardiff, which has the largest crche, a 900-strong petition against closure has been handed in. It says that nursery places and subsidised child care are "crucial in enabling parents to effectively combine a family with a career in broadcasting".
