Jaguar/Land Rover

Responding to reports that the Ford Motor Company is planning to sell its Jaguar and Land Rover subsidiaries, general union Unite has called on the government to intervene if private equity groups emerge as the only likely buyers. Tony Woodley, joint general secretary, called for "some form of direct government intervention" to secure the long-term future of these iconic car manufacturing brands.
