Drugs crackdown

Employers are introducing harsher drug and alcohol polices, according to the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.

In a survey, around eight in ten employers were found to treat alcohol and drug problems as a combined disciplinary and health issue, and 22% test employees for drugs or alcohol — with a further 9% planning to do so.

Managing drug and alcohol misuse, a report based on the survey, can be downloaded from www.cipd.co.uk
