Unite rules approved

Members of Unite, formed last year from the merger of the Amicus and T&G general unions, have given the new union’s rulebook a “ringing endorsement”, according to its leaders. More than 95% voted in favour of approval in a turnout of around 17%.

The union will have 24 industrial sections, 10 regions and two joint general secretaries — Derek Simpson and Tony Woodley.
