Health & Safety Matters

Winter working

Shopworkers’ union Usdaw has produced guidance on winter working. It covers employers’ duties and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, including the minimum workplace temperature requirement of 16ºC — or 13ºC for strenuous work.

The guidance also includes advice on lighting, workplace transport during the cold weather and slips and trips.
