Odds are deadly on exposure to asbestos

Older carpenters who were heavily exposed to asbestos before they were 30 have a one in 10 chance of dying from asbestos-related diseases mesothelioma and lung cancer, new research by the Health and Safety Executive has shown.

Occupational, domestic and environmental mesothelioma risks in Britain (RR 696) showed a much higher risk of developing mesothelioma than previously thought.
