Unite suspensions

One of the losing candidates in the recent leadership election in the Unite general union, Kevin Coyne, was suspended from his post as North West regional secretary of the union, along with two other senior officials.

The suspensions related to damaging allegations about the two joint general secretaries — Derek Simpson and Tony Woodley — that were leaked to the media during the election campaign.
