Job loss fear hits workers’ health

Fear of redundancy as well as actual job losses affect workers’ health.

Cambridge University researcher Brendan Burchell looked at 300 employees over the last two recessions. Workers, who had not lost their jobs but were worried about redundancy, displayed steadily worsening mental health for one to two years — men more so than women.
