Bill addresses pleural plaques sufferers

A Private Members Bill, tabled by Labour MP Andrew Dismore, seeking justice for pleural plaques sufferers is passing through Parliament.

Unions have welcomed the Bill, but want government action to protect the victims of asbestos-related diseases. Dave Joyce, CWU safety officer, said: “All the unions agree that we should not be relying on a Private Members Bill to resolve such a serious situation.”
