Oil firm guilty of “mass victimisation”

The sacking of hundreds of engineering construction workers at the Lindsey oil refinery in Lincolnshire last month, following strikes over access to jobs, sparked a new wave of unofficial action and union accusations of victimisation.

GMB general secretary Paul Kenny pointed the finger at Total, declaring: “It seems pretty obvious that there is a mass case of victimisation taking place here”.
