Unions support BME media event

Six TUC unions came together last month to support an event aimed at black and minority ethnic (BME) workers in the media and entertainment sectors.

The networking event was open to BME workers across the Midlands and took place at the Drum in Birmingham, the national centre for black British arts and culture.

The unions involved were the BECTU broadcasting and entertainment union, actors’ union Equity, the National Union of Journalists, the PFA footballers’ union, the Musicians’ Union and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain.
