The Scottish TUC held its first annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender conference last month, marking the creation of a formal LGBT equality structure.

Delegates elected an LGBT equality committee to work on priorities for LGBT workers throughout the year. The conference also elected two representatives to sit on the STUC’s General Council, to ensure the voice of LGBT workers is heard at the highest level.

STUC general secretary Grahame Smith described the conference as a “landmark”.
