Showing homophobia the red card DVD

Campaign group Show Racism the Red Card has produced a two-part DVD and a supporting education pack on homophobia.

Homophobia, let’s tackle it! features a wide range of top sporting personalities talking about issues of homophobia. The footage is a dynamic resource to combat homophobia and homophobic language on the football terraces and in society as a whole.

The DVD also features interviews with young people, exploring experiences of homophobia and coming out.

It is accompanied by an education pack containing a variety of participatory activities, further information and supporting materials for upper Key Stage 2 pupils to adults.

Christine Blower, general secretary of the NUT teaching union, said: “Homophobia like racism is abhorrent. With these materials teachers will be supported in their work to eradicate it.”
