Foreign contractors and minimum pay

A case referred to the European Court of Justice, by a tribunal in Belgium, has resulted in a ruling by the court that foreign contractors, temporarily working in another EU member state, have to comply with that state's legal rules on minimum pay. This is so even if they are continuing to pay social security contributions to the state where they are permanently based.
