Director's pay rise

Stephen Rubin, chair of branded clothing group Robert Stephen Holdings (RSH), gave himself a 21.2% pay rise in the year to December 1998 putting him on £3,907,304 a year.

Rubin is also chair of Pentland Group, which is 57% owned by RSH. At Pentland he received £360,836 - a 4.8% rise, putting him on a combined salary of £4,268,140.
