Peugeot action suspended

Planned strike action at the Peugeot car plant at Ryton, Coventry was

put on hold last month. Company proposals to cut hours by making changes

in shift arrangements had been narrowly voted down by workers and led to

two 24-hour strikes in July. However, an indefinite stoppage was

suspended when the company agreed not to impose changes and to resume

negotiations on contracts.
