Inflation stays at 3.2%

Inflation remained unchanged last month as higher food and transport costs offset slower price increases for household goods such as furniture. The Retail Prices Index (RPI) remained steady at 3.2%.

The government's preferred inflation target - the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs - was steady at 1.6% for the third successive month.
