Recycling injuries

Unions issued a warning about safety in recycling after Alan Shambrook, a UNISON member, seriously injured his shoulder while collecting recycling rubbish for Stevenage Borough Council.

He has since had to take a lesser-paid job driving a road sweeper due to his disabilities. He received £57,000 in compensation.
