Firefighters’ shifts

South Yorkshire FBU firefighters’ union members have voted to accept a new shift system to end a long-running dispute. The new shifts will have 13-hour nights and 11-hour day shifts, rather than the previous system of 15-hour nights and 9-hour days. The agreement also includes additional benefits for firefighters.
