CEO pay

Chief executives (CEOs) of major companies have little more chance of being fired and made redundant than the average worker, says the Work Foundation think tank.

Despite this, average remuneration packages among FTSE 100 company CEOs had increased by 28% over a 12-month period, compared with 4% across the whole economy. A "winner-takes-all" market had developed among top CEOs "and nothing seems to be able to stop it", the report said.
