Annual general meeting

The Labour Research Department annual general meeting was held on 16 April. The full 2006 annual report can be found on the LRD website at www.lrd.org.uk.

There were sixteen nominations for the sixteen places on the Executive Committee (EC). The new EC consists of Sam Apter (Brent Trades Council, Amicus Wembley/Hendon & Westminster Branches); Richard Ascough (GMB); David Ayrton (NUJ); Eddie Batchelor (T&G); Julian Chapman (NASUWT); Pam Cole (PCS); Helen Donoghue (UCU); Dave Gott (RMT; and RMT Yorks/Lincs Regional Council); Ian Griffiths (GMB S22 Branch); Phil Hanks (TGWU 5/175 Branch); Gary Jones (CWU); Steve Lewis (POA); Mary Nicholas (MRC trade union side); Simon Parry (Prospect); David Powell (NUT); Teresa Tatham (T&G 8-9/27 Branch) and Howard Marchant (Connect) is the honorary treasurer.

The Executive Committee held its first meeting following the AGM and re-elected Helen Donoghue of the UCU as its chair and Dave Gott of the RMT as vice-chair.
