Union campaigns to beat mesothelioma

A campaign to help the victims and families of work-related cancer in the South West of England has been set up with union backing.

The Roger Lowe Asbestos Mesothelioma Campaign has been set up in memory of a former Prospect professional union member who died in 2005 from mesothelioma - an aggressive, incurable form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos (in Lowe's case, while working at the Devonport Royal Dockyard).

The campaign aims to offer a support network and to raise more funds for research into mesothelioma.
