Pension action

Another group of workers, this time at the AugustaWestland helicopter factory in Yeovil, has taken industrial action to defend their pension entitlements.

A one-day strike, the first of four, took place on 9 August, in protest at company plans to close the final salary pension scheme to new employees and change the calculation of pensionable pay. Convenor for the Unite general union, Joe Conway, said the strike had been extremely well supported.
