Unite election
Unite general union member Jerry Hicks has withdrawn his complaint about the union’s procedure for retaining Derek Simpson as general secretary of the Amicus section past the end of his normal term of office. This follows the union’s decision to hold an election for the position in which both men plan to stand. Nominations close on 9 January and the ballot will be in February and March.
