Changing faces at TUC HQ and regions

The TUC has a new head of organisation and services, Paul Nowak, who was previously national organiser for organising and recruitment. He replaces Tom Wilson who was recently appointed director of Unionlearn.

Nowak has been at the TUC for 11 years, having been among the first intake of the TUC’s Organising Academy in 1998. Before that he was a lay activist in various unions and in 2000 he became regional secretary of the Northern TUC.

Meanwhile Cheryl Pidgeon has been appointed regional secretary for the Midlands TUC, replacing Roger McKenzie who now regional secretary at the UNISON public services union.
