New bakers’ leader
The Bakers, Food and Allied Workers’ Union will have a new face at the helm for the first time in three decades.
Ronnie Draper will become general secretary next year after winning a four-cornered contest to replace Joe Marino, who will be retiring after more than 30 years in post.
Draper, who is currently president of the union, received 1,029 votes, 31% of the vote. Turnout was 15.5%.
