Access to hybrid working is not equal
A new report from the Office for National Statistics, Who has access to hybrid working in Great Britain?, has found hybrid working to be “normal” for many people.
More than a quarter of adults (28%) hybrid worked between January and March 2025, but access to hybrid working was not equal. For example, those with degree or equivalent qualifications were 10 times more likely to work this way than those without qualifications.
And hybrid working was more common among those living in less deprived areas of England than those in more deprived ones.
It was also less common among disabled workers. This was partly because they were more likely to be found in those lower income bands.
