• the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR) board has announced a strategic review of the register;
• the European Court of Justice has ruled that pregnant workers and those who have recently given birth, or who are breastfeeding and work shifts, some of which are at night, must be regarded as performing night work and therefore enjoy specific protection against the risks that night work is liable to pose;
• the TUC and campaign group Maternity Action warned that employers are not doing enough to protect pregnant women at work and published new guidance on pregnancy, breastfeeding and health and safety.
