Tackling sexual harassment at work - a guide for union reps

Chapter 4

Commitment

[ch 4: page 35]

As stated above, all anti-harassment policies should make clear the employer’s zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment.

The Bullying and Harassment policy at Norfolk County Council (NCC), drawn up in consultation with public services union UNISON, states that all employees have the right to work in an environment that is free from bullying and harassment. “However, if instances do occur NCC undertakes that allegations of bullying and harassment made in good faith will be dealt with seriously and confidentially and that employees will be protected against victimisation for making or being involved in a complaint.”
