Sickness

As in the case of normal office working, homeworkers should not work if they are too ill to do so — sick leave policies still apply whether the worker is at home or in the office.

The worker should inform their line manager they are ill and/or follow the same sickness absence procedure as office-based staff. It is a good idea if possible for colleagues to be informed that the homeworker is ill and again for everyone to be informed when they are back at work.
