In April 2021, Wood Treatment and its director were cleared of corporate and gross negligence manslaughter following the deaths of four workers in an explosion at the Bosley Wood Flour Mill in Cheshire in July 2015. Both pleaded guilty to health and safety offences. The director received a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months and a £12,000 fine. The company was fined £75,000.
