Health and Safety Law 2024

The town clerk then offered female employees the use of the men’s toilets, but there was a risk of a man entering the facility and a woman seeing a man using the urinal. The exterior door of the toilet block had no lock, therefore a warning sign had to be hung on the door when women were using it, and the sign often did not remain in place. For several months, the claimant ran the risk of being confronted by a man using the urinal either on entering the toilet block or on exiting the cubicle. A lock was later added to the exterior door so that a woman using the toilet could stop men entering to use the urinal, albeit after a delay of several months.
