Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
[ch 3: page 26]Some employers have distinct sick pay arrangements in the case of industrial illness or injuries.
Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) may be available for workers who are ill or are disabled because of an accident or disease either at work on an approved employment training scheme or course. It is a no-fault, tax-free benefit which is not means tested and does not depend on National Insurance contributions, but normally the claimant must be assessed as 14% disabled or more to get it. The amount depends on individual circumstances.
