Time off for medical appointments
[ch 3: page 21]Flexibility to take paid time off to attend medical appointments without that being counted towards sick pay entitlement is important, particularly in view of concerns about “presenteeism” and “leavism” (see pages 7 and 24). Some employers have extended that principle to time off for vaccination.
At Aberdeen University, staff who are disabled or have been diagnosed with a chronic underlying health condition are entitled to reasonable paid time off to attend appointments like counselling or physiotherapy.
