Skilled care worker visa abuses

Quarterly statistics, in the form of the Sponsorship transparency data Q4 2024, released by the government, show the number of licences for sponsoring employers that have either been suspended or revoked has increased by 352% in 2024.

During 2024, 1,693 licences were suspended and 1,494 revoked (compared with 569 and 337 in 2023, and 331 and 273 in 2022).

It is likely this increase is due largely to health and care worker issues, where significant abuse and exploitation has been reported.
