Finnish tech employers allow move to company-level deals
The Finnish technology industries employers’ association is to reorganise itself in a way which will make it easier for companies to negotiate at company rather than industry level.
At present, the technology industries employers’ association is involved both in negotiating with the unions, where its agreements often set the pattern for other settlements, and in more general government lobbying on employment issues and industrial policy.
From August, these activities will be carried out by two separate organisations, one for lobbying and one for negotiations. This means that, while all employers will continue to benefit from the lobbying work, only some employers will be covered by the agreements the association signs. Individual employers will be free to opt out of the industry settlement and negotiate their own deals.
