Key changes and developments

• The government departments for business (BEIS) and digital, culture, media and sport (DCMS) have published a set of six new guides providing guidance to businesses on how to open workplaces safely while reducing the risk of spreading Covid-19. These replace the previous 14 sets of BEIS “Covid-Secure” workplace guidelines;

• Penalties for causing death by dangerous driving will increase in 2021, and there are proposals to make it a criminal offence to use a hand-held mobile phone in all circumstances when driving, including taking photos.
