Recognition at the FCA
The Unite general union is campaigning to be formally recognised by the Financial Conduct Authority, following what it calls “the massive growth in staff joining the union”.
Unite has launched a staff petition in its bid for recognition after growing disenchantment over the financial regulator’s plans to change their pay and conditions, which could mean three in four staff having their pay cut by 10%.
Unite national officer Dominic Hook said the significant growth in union membership “demonstrates that the recognition of an independent trade union at the FCA is long overdue”.
