[ch 3: page 18]UNISON has developed a template risk assessment, Risk assessments for Black, disabled and other vulnerable workers, as well as COVID-19 know your rights: guidance for Black members.
Nottingham University Hospitals UNISON branch secretary Jamie Godber told LRD: “When it became clear that BAME staff were disproportionately affected we took action and emailed the chief executive who responded within 24-hours to say she would ensure all BAME staff were risk assessed.”
The GMB has a web page with a GMB Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) worker Covid risk indicator tool for its members.
Wales TUC welcomed the Welsh government’s development of the COVID-19 workforce risk assessment tool. This was developed for use in health and social care. But Wales TUC recommends it is adapted for all sectors and forms part of COVID-19 specific workplace risk assessments for all vulnerable workers, including pregnant and disabled workers.
