7. USING THE LAW TO RESIST CHANGES TO CONTRACT TERMS

This Chapter looks at:

• the ways an employment contract can be changed within the law;

• what amounts to acceptance of a contract change;

• express contract terms permitting contract change;

• changes to non-contractual terms and working practices;

• contract change and collective consultation; and

• how can the law protect employees who are given notice of dismissal together with by an offer of new (worse) contract terms.
