Public enquiries

The Employment Tribunals have a public enquiry line to answer your queries, provide information about tribunal publications and explain how the tribunal system works. It cannot give you legal advice, such as advising you on your claim or response. Public Enquiry Line: 0845 795 9775; Minicom: 0845 757 3722.

You should quote your case number if you contact the tribunal office by phone or in writing and let the tribunal office know immediately if your contact details change.

If you are not sure that your claim is something that an Employment Tribunal can deal with, contact the public enquiry line or Acas on 08457 474747 which is open from 0800 to 2000 Monday–Friday and 09.00 to 13.00 on Saturday.

The enquiry line can only deal with general enquiries and are unable to action correspondence as they do not have access to case files in order to provide a response.

If you have a representative (a person you ask to act on your behalf), all correspondence about the case will be sent to them. And you must pass any further requests for information through the representative.
