Maternity suspension

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work (Amendment) Regulations 1999, and sections 64-70 ERA 96), employees and agency workers with at least 12 weeks’ qualifying service (see Chapter 2) who are suspended by their employer on maternity grounds are entitled to their normal pay unless they have unreasonably refused alternative work.

Tribunal fees: There is an issue fee for claiming maternity suspension pay of £160, and a hearing fee of £230, regardless of the amount claimed (2014-15). See Chapter 1.
