Skeleton argument
The purpose of a skeleton argument is to set out the legal tests in the context of the key facts. Highlighting favourable authorities (decisions of the Employment Appeal Tribunal and above are binding on the tribunal) and showing why the claim under consideration mirrors them is obviously a key step in persuading the tribunal to find in the individual’s favour.
An example skeleton argument is available for subscribers to download by visiting the LRD website at: www.lrdpublications.org.uk/download.php. Others can be viewed at various legal and consumer advice websites including the Consumer Action Group: www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk and the Legal Action Group at: www.lag.org.uk
