Amending the claim form
A tribunal has the power to amend a claim at any stage of the proceedings. However, there is no right to have a claim amended — the claimant must make an application for amendment, setting out a full explanation of the reasons for the amendment.
Amendments will generally be allowed, as long as they do not put the other party at a disadvantage. However, a tribunal will not normally permit the ET1 to be amended, if the amendment is to submit a new claim that is outside the time limit.
