Facilities under the Acas Code on time off for trade union duties and activities

The Code gives guidance on appropriate facilities for reps needing to confer privately with members involved in formal procedures. Facilities should include access to a telephone, computer, email, photocopier or printer and to a private room where the worker can discuss the issues confidentially. 


Where surveillance evidence (for example CCTV footage or tape recordings) is involved, the rep and member should be given facilities to watch/listen at least once in private.
