• Unite members took strike action on bullying this year and the Federation of Entertainment Unions called for action to tackle bullying, harassment in the entertainment and media industries;
• the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 was extended in May 2014 to private property, meaning people like postal workers and telecom engineers will have protection under the law; local authorities and the police will also have more powers to take action before dangerous dogs attack;
• in April 2014, the government announced policy changes on the operation of fixed betting terminals which will encourage more responsible gambling and help to protect betting shop workers.
