Tribunal fees

Since 29 July 2013, all claims issued in the employment tribunal, including all discrimination claims regardless of value, attract a fee. There are no exceptions. In the case of a discrimination claim, there is a fee of £250 to issue the claim and a hearing fee of £950 if the claim does not settle. A few low paid workers may qualify for fee remission (i.e. full or partial exemption). For more information on tribunal fees and remission, see Chapter 1.
