Legislation
It is important to remember that legislation is often amended or refined after it is implemented. This is done through further Acts or regulations and means that the current employment rights, jurisdiction, rules and procedures at any given time are established by referring to a number of different pieces of legislation. The rules mentioned above concerning jurisdiction for breach of contract claims provide just one example.
Legislation available through The Stationery Office will be in its original form, but it is also possible to obtain copies of consolidated legislation — the current version of the legislation with any amendments incorporated (see Further information at the end of this booklet).
