Negotiating a policy — checklist
• Is your employer aware of the Acas and HSE guidance on bullying and harassment at work?
• Is there a dignity at work clause in your contract or agreement?
• Has your employer consulted the union about tackling bullying and harassment?
• Do you have a policy or policies for tackling bullying and harassment at work?
• Do all members know about the bullying and harassment policies?
• Are the policies working?
• Are the policies regularly monitored, reviewed and updated in consultation with union representatives?
• Have all managers received appropriate training?
• Is counselling available for those being bullied or harassed, and for the bullies?
